Green Tomato Marmalade

This morning I set my alarm for 7am, bright and early.
However, I ended up hitting snooze a couple times.
By the time I got up (about 15 minutes after boyfriend left for work)
I came out to a very quiet living room.

Hmmmmmmm.....

It's kinda quiet for a Bulldog to be just walkin' around...

YEP! Way too quiet for a Wiggle-Butt!
She was eating a whole chicken carcass under the dining room table!

OH NO!!!!!!
Chicken bones are NOT good for Bullies (or any other dog.)!!!!

Much to Weezer's chagrin, I removed the chicken and made her feel bad enough
to go sulk in the corner.

Then after cleaning up that mess, I applied for jobs,
sent some examples of work off to a couple people
and started looking up recipes for tonights dinner.

I think I'm gonna make a pork tenderloin with some of the
Green Tomato Marmalade I made with my girlyfriends!

See, I really am a domestic diva when I want to be! ;-)

Here it is simmering away on the stove.

And here's my beautiful gf Ang slaving away.
(We were at her cute little house, you can check out more pics of her yard here.)

And here's all the jars cookin' away in the pot.

And here's the finished product! YAY!
I believe Ang got the yummy recipe from HERE.
It tastes like roasted sweet potatoes with a hint of citrus and ginger.
YUM!

OH, and check out this little cutie-pie:

This is Licorice.
She is a hen that Ang hand-raised and is ever-so-cute!
She comes when you call her, she'll eat out of your hand and
she LOVES to come into the house and hang out with the Ladies.
Licorice makes me want chickens with fancy feet.

Off to do a little cookin'!
Have a great day!

  3. Oh I bet he was in heaven! I need one of those canning dohickies. We use tongs to remove our jars and sometimes they are slippery!
